Practical Accountancy Training and Work Experience

When you are all set to start a new career as an accountant, here are some points that you should consider seriously. In other words a person has to fulfil the given requirements to become eligible for ACCA studies:

  • Minimum age requirement  For ACCA registration the candidate must have completed at least 18 years of the age.
  • Fluency in English  Though English is the language of the all examinations, training and the study materials so a person desiring the join ACCA must have a remarkable hold on the language. Here, a point to be noticed that even there are written examinations, but there is no negative marking for grammatical mistakes. For understanding more clearly, you should check the previous years’ question papers and their solved versions.
  • Commitment  ACCA qualifications are, actually, one of the highest focus and concentration requiring study schedule and cannot be achieved without a great deal of hard work, focus, dedication and a strong commitment. Sometimes, an average student has to put all of his potential to complete it. Though there are various training institutes who can minimize the pressure and stress and guide the students in the all aspects of study, training and examination preparation.
  • Some general rules about ACCA qualifications:
  • If you want to obtain the membership of ACCA, you need to pass the 9 examinations at the fundamental level and then at the professional level, you must pass three exams at essential module and two exams at optional module.
  • The order or sequence of the examination taken is usually-
  • 1. Knowledge
  • 2. Skills
  • 3. Essentials
  • 4. Options
  • A student can entertain the flexibility in the order of the exams within a same module, but he cannot change the order or sequence of the modules.
  • To be treated as a passover candidate, one needs to obtain at least 50% in each exam.
  • A student is given the time of 10 years to complete the entire examination process, but the usual time taken by an average student to complete it is 3-4 years.
  • The candidates with the graduation degree are exempted from at least three starting exams and for further exemption they have to directly contact with the association.
  • The three knowledge module examinations are 2 hours long papers and contains multiple choice questions.
  • In skill module examinations and the professional level examination, the time limit is 3 hours and there are full length answerable question as there are no MCQ based questions.
  • The language of examination is English and the UK taxation law is applied so the candidates have to answer the questions in resemblance of the UK tax laws.
  • After completion of the examination process, a student has to complete the practical experiential session.
