There are two levels of exam in ACCA, the first fundamental and the second is professional. Just as per their names, the fundamental level is about gaining the knowledge and skills about the key areas of management and financial accounting. The subject matter covers the main accounting techniques that an eligible accountant should know and master like, financial reporting, taxation, related laws, etc.
On the other hand the professional level is divided on the basis of essential and optional modules. This level flourishes the knowledge that was earned in the foundation level. A student has to go through a more detailed study of professional skills, techniques and ethics. All the subjects of essential modules are compulsory to attend and pass, but there are some exemptions in the case of optional module.
